Capital Women Cricket League returns for three-day tournament at Henrico parks

For the third consecutive year, Henrico hosted a three-day cricket tournament that attracted girls teams from nearby states.

The tournament, held Oct. 10-12, was organized by the Capital Women Cricket League and held at Deep Run and Dunncroft/Castle Point parks. In 2019, three multipurpose fields at Deep Run were renovated to accommodate cricket and other sports.

The weekend tournament featured six teams from Virginia, New Jersey, Georgia, North Carolina and Washington.

“I think Henrico County is doing of great job of providing a platform for all the girls to showcase their talent,” NJ Dream Coach Aditi Chudasama said. “And it’s a great way for up-and-coming youth to get games in on really good fields and experience what it’s like to play on quality grounds and quality pitches.”
