A woman in possession of suspected drugs was arrested on Sunday, 12 November 2023, arrested during visitation at the Red Onion State Prison. The suspect, who admitted to having drugs in her possession, also relinquished a small package concealed within her body.
The Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) Security who acted on a tip off that the woman accused of trying to sneak in drugs would be bringing the banned substance into the facility equally discovered a grinder and roll of cellophane in the car used by the suspect to the facility.
Following questioning by security staff and the Wise County Sheriff’s office, the suspect was taken into custody by the Wise County Sheriff’s Office.
VADOC continues to withhold any further details, including the suspect’s identity in the incident that is actively under investigation.
